Ingredients for four people:
4 Chicken legs
1 crushed garlic clove
2 small onions finely chopped
1/3l chickenstock
150g walnuts
4 tbsp pomogranate syrup
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
safron or turmeric
1tsp maple syrup (the original recipe said sugar, but I prefer maple syrup in these things)
Directions:
1. Salt and pepper and smear garlic on the chicken legs and fry for 20 minutes at a medium temperature, turning frequently
2. in the meantime chop finely half of the walnuts and ground the other half
3. chop onions.
4.Towards the end of the frying add the onions for browning then the walnuts
6. Once everything is brownish, mix the syrup, stock, cinnamon, saffron, and maple syrup together and pour over the chicken.
7. Cover and let simmer at low to medium heat for 30 minutes
8. Serve with fresh pomegranate seeds.
